Residents will start to see closures to 126th Street as the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Fishers Department of Engineering and Public Works begin the process of widening the road.

When completed, 126th Street will resemble 116th Street. The project will allow residents to travel 126th street more easily and should ease congestion.

The large project began in early July 2009 and should be completed by the end of 2011. Residents living in subdivisions along 126th Street will need to determine alternate travel routes in and out of their subdivisions as the project progresses.

Current Project Plans

• On Monday, July 20, 2009 East 126th Street will be closed at the entrances to Somerset Subdivision and Whispering Woods.
• On Monday, July 20, 2009, East 126th Street will be closed between Brooks School Road and Olio Road.
• The intersection of 126th Street and Brooks School Road will remain open while utilities continue to relocate.
• When utilities are relocated, it is anticipated the intersection of 126th Street and Brooks School Road will close on or after August 1, 2009. The closure of the intersection is a 45 day closure.

Future Project Plans

• Although temporary delays may be experienced, all single family residents with direct access to 126th Street shall have access to their properties at all times.
• Patrons wishing to visit Maclean Gardens will have to access the business from Olio Road until August 24, 2009. At that time, Maclean Gardens can be accessed from Gray Eagle Drive via 116th Street or Duval Drive.
• Residents living in Hawks Landing will have to access their development from Olio Road.
• Pennington Road will be closed at 126th Street.
• 126th Street access to Federal Drive for Tanglewood residents will be closed. Residents need to access their development via Dekoven Drive at Pennington Road.
• 126th Street access to Gray Eagle Drive for Gray Eagle residents will be closed. Residents need to access their development via Duval Drive at Brooks School Road or Gray Eagle Drive at 116th Street.
• 126th Street access to Spire View Drive for Oak Hall residents will be closed. Residents need to access their development via Somerset, Sandstone or Meadow Brook Village developments.
• 126th Street access to Raiders Boulevard and Champions Boulevard to The Bristols will be closed. Residents need to access their development via Packers Avenue at 131st Street or Steelers Boulevard at Brooks School Road.
